Base out of Uttarakhand, in the North of India, is the home to Himadri Hans Handloom (HHH), the weaving partners that we work with to handcraft our merino wool blankets. Authentic, talented and practicing the weaving they have learnt from their parents, HHH employs women from in around the village of Almora to revive the handloom industry of the mountains. Fine tuning their inherited skills through generations, HHH helps women from remote Himalayan villages by imparting design and technical skills.
The merino wool sourced from New Zealand is first, hand-dyed into the colours handpicked by Indikon. Then, they are traditionally hand-spun and finally woven on traditional handlooms to create the final Indikon textile.
Hans Foundation, the parent foundation of HHH dedicates its efforts offering education, healthcare and other empowerment issues. We are delighted to collaborate with them as this our conscious endeavour to uplift and give back to communities around us.
